In this photo essay of vintage basketball hoops the photographer Rob Hammer was not so consistent with his photographs when it comes to the elements of photography. The only element of photography where he displays consistency is the element of thirds. In almost every photo the basketball hoop is displayed in one of the four quadrants that align with the thirds element. Other elements that are sometimes displayed in his photographs are lead room, depth, and head space.

In this photo essay of images of 9/11 the photographer Paul Morse displayed a lot of depth head space and leading lines. An area that Paul Morse did not focus on is the elements of rule of thirds. However, the thing that he excelled at was his shot framing, the ability to get closeup shots, medium shots, wide shots and extreme closeup shots.

In this photo essay of nature landscapes during the Summer created by photographer Tobin Yates there are some photography elements that have a huge emphasis on his work. Some of those elements consist of angles/depth, background, balance, shallow depth of field, medium shots and wide shots. However, he does not focus on lead room, rule of thirds, and head shots.

After listening to the TedTalk given by Jim Loring there are two major takeaways from his talk. The first is that photographers need to look beyond what is expected and what is hoped by the photographer. The other is that photographers need to take photographs with your heart and mind to truly get the best photos or videos.
